What is HS code?
HS Code, known as the Harmonized System Code, is an international system used to classify goods. It uses 6-digit numbers: the first 2 digits identify the chapter, the next 2 digits identify the heading, and the last 2 digits identify the subheading.
For exports from Vietnam to Canada, the Vietnamese side uses 8 digits, with 2 extra compared to the original, while the Canadian side uses a 10-digit HS code. Remember that the first 6 digits must match on both custom documents declared on each side.
